Synopsis

Hundreds are dead at the hands of The Four. Three months after the events of Leithar Grove, Tamir is a kingdom in fear. The people no longer trust Prince Remelas; his military ambitions are now public knowledge. So the Sons of Tamir, a nationalistic faction created within this atmosphere of betrayal, march on the capital to seek Remelas' abdication. And still the rumours persist of a young girl who walked away, unharmed, from Leithar Grove that night. Crazed seers and prophets continue to preach of the Queen of the World. Sarene, accompanied by the huge woodsman Kanderil, journeys ever onwards in hope of finding shelter from the coming winter. Having left her family behind, she finds herself growing isolated from an increasingly perilous world. Sarene refuses to believe what these nameless strangers say about her. Yet she must come face to face with the truth of what she is. What she represents. And that truth will come at the highest cost.

About the Author

Ben Hennessy is a writer originally from Essex, England, who now finds himself based in Cambridge. Nobody's quite sure how he ended up in that charming university city full of history, punting and architecture. But it probably has something to do with the alarming number of local pubs. His debut fantasy novel, Queen of the World, explores the story of Sarene - a young girl with dreams of adventure who discovers that the myths and legends of her world are very real. A sequel, The Whisper of Dreams, explores Sarene's continued friction with this knowledge and the danger of navigating everyday life in the nation of Tamir.Ben's writing style is influenced by the likes of Stephen King, David Gemmell, James Herbert and Terry Pratchett. He particularly enjoys writing dialogue and likes nothing more than sitting down to begin a draft featuring long, spirited conversations among multiple characters.A devoted video game enthusiast/addict, Ben has a long career in the industry. He started out working with the hit game Runescape, before moving into narrative design for Frontier Developments in 2019, overseeing and writing the primary story of the iconic sci-fi franchise Elite. He is also the lead writer and developer of the forthcoming cyberpunk visual novel CODE.BREACH.Outside of writing, Ben is a fan of alarming heavy metal, upsettingly spicy food, and travelling wherever possible. He also has two cats who insist on getting attention when a keyboard is being tapped.
