About the Authors

Abdelhamid I. Sabra was Professor of History of Science at Harvard University, USA.

Jan Hogendijk is a mathematician and historian of science. His research interests include the history of mathematics and its applications in medieval Islamic civilization and Greek antiquity. He was Professor of History of Mathematics at the University of Utrecht, Netherlands.
