Synopsis
Make Believe is a vibrant and sensitively told rites of passage story of Nancy, a young girl who runs away to London, fearful of the police and social services, unaware of the damage she might do to he vulnerable baby. Prostitutes, drug dealers and teenage beggars cross her path but all the while she feels in no danger as long as she is with her baby, Pod. In her naivety she thinks that no-one would hurt a baby. Essentially no more than a child herself, overwhelmed by responsibility, she drifts in and out of a make believe world in order to survive.

About the Author
David Misson was born in Hendon and is largely self-educated, having left school semi-literate and dyslexic but with a gift for art and literature. His writing is based to some extent on his interests , one of the most important being psychology which we can clearly see from this multi-layered and powerfully absorbing first novel.
