Synopsis

Written with candour, vulnerability and wit, So Much From So Little is the life story so far of a colourful, often misunderstood entrepreneur. Known for being a motor trader and a wealthy commercial property developer, Graham Dacre is recognised in equal measure for being shrewd, one step ahead of the pack, and a successful corporate deal maker. He is also widely acknowledged within the Norfolk community for his generosity. Here he writes openly and honestly about the challenges and conflicts he has faced, sharing both highs and lows along with his mistakes. In doing so he seeks to pass on tips to would-be entrepreneurs about the character and skills required for success. Inseparable from the businessman, a sure and certain faith drives all he does. Every page of this book carries a sense of overwhelming gratitude that an ordinary bloke should have the privilege of doing such extraordinary things. He says, I still find it difficult to believe that so much could come from so little me!

About this title

About the Author

Graham M. Dacre, CBE made two small fortunes. He established and built the Lind motor business into one of the UK s larger and most respected car dealership groups selling it for £100m+ days before the market collapsed. Alongside this, he has developed and retains a substantial commercially let property portfolio. Over the years, he has donated the greater part his income to charity. He helped fund the Lind Trust which, in 2003, acquired the magnificent former regional headquarters of Barclays Bank in the City of Norwich. Subsequently, the trustees invested over £10m, turning the property into what has been described as the finest youth provision in Europe. The Open Youth Trust received the Queen s Award for Voluntary Service in 2010. Alongside the Bishop of Norwich, the Rt. Revd. Graham James, he sponsored the initially controversial Open Academy the first such school in Norfolk. Today, he oversees those who manage his many commercial interests, spending most of his time on more philanthropic endeavours as well as polishing a collection of classic cars that, in times past, he could only ever dream about. He was made a CBE in the 2013 Queen s Birthday Honours List.
