Synopsis
Barry is a Nice Name is the story of a boy growing up in South London during the 50's and 60's. It deals with his adoption, upbringing, home life, schooling and adolescence - all with humour, a little self-analysis, and more than a few comparisons between then and now. It demonstrates the importance of music, friendship and guidance in his life, and offers a few trenchant observations on the superficiality of the modern world, the nanny state and organised religion. It's history, and it's his story.

About the Author
David Catchpole (Ph.D., University of Cambridge) is scholar in residence at Sarum College in Salisbury, England, and emeritus professor of theological studies at the University of Exeter. He is a well-established figure in New Testament studies in both the UK and the US and author of The Trial of Jesus, The Quest for Q, and Resurrection People.
