With most new laptops and PCs coming with Windows 7 preloaded, and the operating system gradually making its way to becoming the most-used in the world, this is a timely guide to what you can do with it, what to expect from it and how to recover from it when it lets you down. I've never had a PC that didn't crash in the middle of something until the present laptop, which runs on Windows 7. Having said that, it came with 1MB of RAM which simply wasn't enough, so I upgraded it to 3MB immediately, and it's been a happy beast since then. Windows 7 is without doubt the most stable platform Microsoft have ever produced, but it still can go wrong and frequently does, so it's as well to have this brilliant book on the shelf in readiness. Other than that, there are all manner of tips and tricks on how to get the best results and performance from your Windows 7 machine, and it's also extremely colourful, informative, and essential, like most MagBooks. --Books Monthly
