Richard Rogers is one of the world’s most distinguished architects, as well as a powerful and effective advocate for the role of architecture and urban design in improving everyday lives. Famous for his ‘inside out’ architectural style, Rogers’s unique approach to architectural design has generated such landmarks as the Pompidou Centre in Paris and the Lloyds building in London. This volume, accompanying the exhibition ‘Richard Rogers RA: Inside Out’, at the Royal Academy of Arts, explores the origins of and influences on Rogers’s thinking, and explains how his wide-ranging interests inform his design process. About the Author
Nicolai Ouroussoff is an architecture critic and a former New York Times writer. Michael Craig-Martin RA is a Royal Academician whose paintings, installations and public commissions are internationally acclaimed. Ricky Burdett is Director of the Urban Age programme. He has collaborated with Rogers many times over the last 20 years. Anne Power is an expert in social exclusion and the Professor of Social Policy at the London School of Economics. Jeremy Melvin is Curator of the World Architecture Festival and Consultant Curator for the Architecture Programme at the Royal Academy of Arts.
