167 IB Secrets is a book for students who'd really like a lot of practical help on how to get, for example, 6 extra points on their final Diploma score. It isn't a substitute for studying in school - it's about making the best use of what students have learned in order to impress examiners at the crucial moments. It's about picking up a few vital extra marks here and there in enough subjects to help lift candidates just over a few grade boundaries. It's not magic. And while the book tells students things they can do, it can't make them the kind of person to do them. But learning the 'rules' of the very complex 'game' of IB exams can make students into better players. As in any activity, there will be different views about how to get the best results, so sensible students listen to all the different advice and pick out what works for them.
