Each method developed has been illustrated with solved examples. A set of exercises for self practice is given at the end of each chapter. A set of brief answer review questions relating to the finer detail of the topics discussed in each chapter preceding the set of exercises has been added to facilitate learning and enhance the value of the book.

About the Author

Dr. Chander Mohan is Professor at Department of Computer Science, Ambala College of Engg. & App. Research, Ambala, India. He has also been associated with a number of various reputed institutions in the same capacity. He has obtained his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Roorkee University, Roorkee, India in 1967 and has been teaching since then. Prof. Mohan has published over 90 research publication in various research journals and wrote three books on technical subjects. He has also won several prestigious awards like Millennium Award of Honour-American Biographical Institute. He is a fellow member of international Astronomical Union, Operations Research Society of India, Founder Member of Indian Astronomical society and Founder Member cum Executive Committee Member of Indian Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. Dr. Kusum Deep is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India. She was a brilliant scholar and holds excellent academic record, including a Gold Medal at M.Phil. Her area of specialization and their applications to engineering. Currently she is working on Evolutionary Computations, particularly, Genetic Algorithms, Memetic Algorithms, Particle Swarm Optimization, etc. Dr. Deep has more than 25 research publications in refereed journals and more than 50 research paper in various conferences. Four students have completed their Ph.D. under her supervision and four more are currently in progress. She was also awarded the International Bursaries funded by Commission of European Communities, Brussels to do Post Doctoral Research at Department of Computer Studies, Loughborough University of Technology, Loughborough, U.K.
