We think of the Greeks and Romans as crucially important to the modern world, while we romantically see the Celts as a people living on the fringes in Ireland, Wales, Cornwall Scotland and France, faced with extinction. In this extraordinary new book, acclaimed historian Simon Young overhauls that preconception. "The Celtic Revolution" shows how the Celtic Empire ruled the world from Spain to Egypt for two thousand years in a way that drew the blue print for today's Europe. As modern life is inconceivable without their achievements, Simon Young's masterly book will enthrall the readers who enjoy the works of Norman Davies and Andrew Marr.
