Synopsis
This book is a guide to pupils aged 13-16 who are attempting problems in competitions such as the Intermediate Mathematical Olympiad, which are administered by the UKMT and similar organisations. Such questions provide much more of a challenge for able pupils than do typical exercises from school textbooks. Although the mathematical content of the problems ought to be familiar, it is often not obvious how to solve them. The book covers all of the questions set in the Cayley, Hamiton, and Maclaurin papers over the first ten years of the competition.
