9781904772590: RMJM Inside Out Outside in: More Than Architecture

Synopsis

Taking into account the origins and history of RMJM, and their inspiring approach to a new way of practising architecture, which preserves their individuality even as they have expanded into a multinational organisation, this is not a conventional monograph but an eclectic, at times personal account of a body of work and an overall vision. Their current and past work provide visual illustrations of their history and practise. These include projects in London, Beijing, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dubai, Hong Kong, India, Brighton, Moscow and Cambridge including the Beijing Olympic Green Convention Centre, The Performance Academy at Newcastle College, Brighton Tower and Glasgow Harbour, as well as a host of other business, commercial, arts and residential developments around the world. A diversity of material, including both personal viewpoints from practice members and colleagues, and academic assessment, alongside plans, drawings, photographs, paintings and illustrations of the inspiration behind their working method, provides a new way of looking at architecture, art, design, space, and visual culture.
