Maggie lectured in art and design for fourteen years in further education, teaching City & Guilds Embroidery and Design for ten years. In Art & Design department she specialised in fashion, textiles and design. She has been a member of the Embroiderers Guild for more than twenty years and is a past Chairman of Darlington E.G. She has exhibited both individually and in groups for over twenty years. In 2008, her first book "Get Plastered", a how to book showing a variety of exciting ways to create surface texture on fabric. Maggie works from her studio in Darlington and is a member of Interface, a artist networking group.
