Synopsis

Compiled from the works of one the most prolific and influential Islamic thinkers of the twentieth century, Murtada Mutahhari, it surveys the fundamentals of these branches of the Islamic sciences from the perspective of multiple Islamic sects and ideologies. An excellent guide to the foundational teachings of Islam as well as an effective introduction to further studies in the classical Islamic sciences.

About the Author
Murtada Mutahhari was born near Mashjhad in 1920. He began his studies at Qum where he was greatly influenced by Ayatollah Khomeini's teachings on Islamic ethics, and later studied metaphysics and jurisprudence before teaching at the universities of Qum and Tehran. He was assassinated in 1979.
