Synopsis

Our lives are directed, either consciously or unconsciously, by our most fundamental beliefs and values. But where did those beliefs and values come from? Up until now, most of us who grew up in the West have only had two choices - either accept, lock, stock and barrel, the beliefs and values of the faith and culture we were brought up in, or reject that faith and choose another one that reflects more clearly our own sense of soul. But choosing between the many different brands on the shelves of the current 'spiritual supermarket' is no easy task - Christianity or Zen Buddhism? And what many of us have found is that even in the 'new' faith, any direct spiritual experience of our own was often denied. The new faith's own established dogma usually said that it alone had the spiritual authority to validate our experience. Now The Quest opens up another path. It does not tell you what to think or believe. Instead, it gives you some very powerful tools to re-examine, re-appraise and rebuild your most fundamental beliefs and values and then re-integrate them into your life. It does not reject the established faiths but offers you the chance to create and validate your own sense of soul - a faith that works for you - that sees you as a unique individual with your own spiritual authority and expression. Widely acclaimed for excellence and quality, The Quest is already in use worldwide by individuals, by people working in small groups, in the community, in churches, in colleges and universities. The Quest is linked to and promoted by the latest of the Quest series of specials in the, A Passion for Life, due from PBS in March 2005, which have consistently captured top ratings and reached 90 million households across North America, as well as being broadcast in Europe and Israel.

About this title

Review

'So well written, constructed and presented, by a small independent group of individuals with many years' experience in personal and spiritual growth, education and community, that it is a joy to work with, The Quest will enhance and deepen your spiritual life, and empower you to make positive changes. It is an Aladdin's cave of personal and spiritual growth springboards and can be dipped into for inspiration and returned to again and again. It is a life long companion on the spiritual path and an outstanding achievement; it is a labour of love, created with love to bring more love into our world. Susanna Michaelis, Caduceus
