Synopsis
Pretext is the international literary magazine which brings you new fiction, poetry, essays and interviews with and from famous names and up and coming writers. With its distinct, sharp design and furious blend of wit and vitriol, Pretext has been making a name for itself on the literary stage.
Guest edited by Ali Smith and Julia Bell, Volume 5 showcases writing by women, as well as airing a new short story by DJ Taylor; one of the last recorded interviews with Kathy Acker; an exclusive new poem from Margaret Atwood and poetry by the expressionist Austrian Egon Schiele.
Other contributions include: a short story by Stella Duffy; poems by Ramona Herdman, new poetry by Graham Mort and new writing by Louise Tondeur, Sarah Wood, Donald Paterson, Sidura Ludwig, Graeme Gibson, Steve Chamberlain and Frances Gapper.
