Synopsis

Since the inception of Formula 1 in 1948, the sporting world has been treated to countless displays of courage, ambition and extraordinary natural skill. History will tell us who won the most Grands Prix, the most World Championships; who scored the most points, but statistics alone rarely tell the full story. RACERS: 1969-2000 - and its companion volume RACERS: 1948-1968 - examines the lives and careers of those drivers whose natural talent and innate speed in a racing car set the world alight. Journalist Alan Henry presents his selection of drivers who were the real stars of the modern era. With nearly 250 photographs (including over 100 colour images) and 50,000 words of critical appraisal from one of the world's most-respected motoring authors, RACERS: 1969-2000 is the last word on the driving talents of the late 20th century.
