This volume contains a reprint of the exceedingly rare 1889 supernatural novel "Can Such Things Be or the Weird of the Beresfords" about a cursed family subjected to multiple hauntings, plus three novellas: "By the Night Express", "Dolores" and "Love Stronger Than Death" first published in one volume with the title "By the Night Express" also in 1889. These books were originally published as cheap railway store "yellowbacks". Nothing is known of the author, Keith Fleming. This volume includes an Introduction by John Pelan and an Afterword by Richard Dalby.
