Synopsis
Tony Onslow researches the history of this long-gone club using new archives and statistics. Tony Onslow has turned his attention to researching this long-gone club, which was regarded as equal to Preston North End, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday; Grimby Town and Nottingham Forest. Sadly without major financial backing Bootle F. C. struggled to survive and finally closed its gates for the last time in 1893. This account does not have a happy ending, but in the telling Tony reveals a story full of interest and surprise.
