Softcover. Condition: Very Good. Immediate dispatch from Somerset. Nice book in great condition. Pages in excellent condition. No notes or highlighting. See images. Fantastic book. About the book >.>.> Another area that I have not been able to do more than touch on is the social side of the industry. What kind of people worked on the mines, were they local or did they come in from elsewhere bringing their expertise with them? To what extent and in what roles were women employed? I recognise that aspects of this book are unbalanced. I have put together such information that was readily available from previously published sources and research carried out both by myself and others. Generally, I have not probed into the detail contained in the mine plans and cost books that exists in such collections as those held at the County Record Office, Truro; the Cornish Studies Library, Redruth, private estate papers etc.etc. There is plenty of work here for future researchers. Another major contributor to this book, though I never met him, has been Dr. A.W. Groves. From 1940 to 1946 Groves served as the Geologist for the Iron and Steel Control, Ministry of Supply. His job was to look at all possible sources of iron. Seller Inventory # Batch-FM389-VG-9169
