Dutch artists Liesbeth Bik and Jos Van der Pol spent a month in Leeds in October 2000 on a Henry Moore Institute Research Fellowship. They spent most of their time in the library, looking through books about sculpture and photocopying images which interested them. They were particularly interested in the experimental work of artists from the late 1960s to 1970s - Nauman, Buren, Beuys, Acconci - though their range extends back and forward. Later on they sent back to Leeds tracings of selected images, along with others drawn from newspapers and magazines. This facsimile 'sketch book', in which all the drawings are reproduced, accompanies an exhibition at the Henry Moore Institute (1 June - 1 September 2002).
