From 1926 until his death six years later, John A.Anderson contributed to a local newspaper a weekly series under the heading 'The Cleikum'. He recorded local legends, the working lives of the inhabitants, and stories of notable Innerleithen characters, past and present. His daughter, Olive Russell, has compiled a selection of her father's articles, giving us the opportunity to experience his observations on the place and times in which he grew up
