The 'Carl Rogers Therapeutic Conditions Series' traces the evolution and application of Carl Rogers' necessary and sufficient therapeutic conditions from 1957 to the present day. Understudied to the point of being ignored, conditions one and six of Carl Rogers' 'Necessary and Sufficient' conditions are given due attention for the first time in this volume. Writers from three continents put psychological contact and client's perception of the therapist not only on the theoretical map, but at the very centre of it. The result is a series of papers outlining genuine new theory and practice for all counsellors and therapists, not only those of a person-centred persuasion.

Pete Sanders worked for over 25 years as a counsellor, founded BAC Accredited counsellor training courses in Wigan and Manchester, and supervised counsellors for many years. He got fed up with the values of Education in Britain in the Thatcher years and left to set up PCCS Books with his wife, Maggie. He has written several books and articles on counselling and still dabbles at the fringes with odd contributions here and there. He now spends most of his time concentrating on creating a strong library of published person-centred literature through the work of PCCS Books. <P>Gill Wyatt writes: I am the Director of Person-Centred Connections, an organisation committed to extending the understanding and application of the Person-Centred Approach. I have managed, designed and tutored on BACP accredited Diplomas in Person-Centred Counselling at postgraduate and undergraduate levels for the last 15 years. I practice in Nottingham as a BACP accredited counsellor and UKCP registered psychotherapist supervisor, facilitator and consultant. My current interests include: congruence and authenticity, groups and group-centred facilitation, aspects of spirituality and energy work, and the nature of power. It is becoming increasingly important for me to find ways of living more authentically in all areas of my life work, relationships and within the larger contexts of my community, the society within which I live, and the environment.
