Synopsis
This long-awaited complement to Appleman's previous bestseller shows programmers how to turbocharge VB by describing how to control the entire Windows API. Divided into three parts, the book begins with a series of programming puzzles of increasing complexity. Each puzzle describes a typical API function, followed by a small VB program applying the function. These programs almost work but are all missing something. Readers are challenged to solve the puzzle and fix the program -- thus learning in the process. The second part contains solutions to the puzzles, along with in-depth technical explanations, while the final part concludes with general tutorials that you can refer to for help in solving the problems.The book is primarily for VB6 programmers, but includes a VB5 source code tree as well.About the author:Dan Appleman has been developing applications for Microsoft Windows since its release in 1985. About the Author
Michael Kofler holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Graz Technical University in Austria. He has written a number of successful computer books on topics such as Visual Basic, Visual Basic .NET, and Linux. Michael is the author of The Definitive Guide to MySQL 5, Third Edition and Definitive Guide to Excel VBA, Second Edition from Apress.
