He has published in many journals including Yale Review, Stand Magazine, Southfields, etc. He has translated poems by Greek poet Yiannis Ritsos. In 1998 he attended Derek Walcott's Rat Island Foundation. Critic Bengt Jangfeldt states, "Stephanos Papadopoulos has several qualities as a poet, one of the most conspicuous being his talent for the elegiac, his ability to bring to life memories and artifacts from times past..." This book was co-published with Leviathan in the UK.
