What's So Bleedin' Funny About Lord Hill?!
That's the question I finally plucked up the courage to ask myself one day back in the mid-1980's. Now, I'd been a Python fan since 1974. I'd laughed along with the best of them as they reeled-off jokes about Lord Hill, Mary Whitehouse, Reginald Maudling and others - but as an American I wasn't entirely certain what was so funny about them. So I investigated, and what I found helped me understand. So I wrote it all down, along with lots of inside info on how the Python series was conceived, written and performed and the result is this lawsuit - er, BOOK! It's a sort of "historical and hysterical" look at one of the funniest and most influential TV series ever made. It includes many rare photos and lots of inside info from the Python's themselves on how they did what they did and why (I was writing partners with Graham Chapman for a few years).
