This collection of poems was the winner of the 2001 Select Poets Series chapbook award. The author, at time of writing, was Associate Professor of English at Sam Houston University. Living in Huntsville, Texas, where the biggest enterprise is a state prison, some of her poems reflect that looming reality, and others a wider landscape.
