Dismantling the glass ceiling is our greatest challenge
The glass ceiling is a phrased used to describe artificial barriers based on attitudinal or organizational biases which prevent qualified minorities and women from not only advancing upward into middle and senior level positions but into entry and lower level positions as well. This phenomenon adversely affects more than half of our soceity and yet we failed to adequately address it.
I wrote this book as a vehicle to dismantle discriminatory beliefs and practices in today's workforce. It provides effective tools that help employees, employers and institutions develop awareness, sensitivity and a commitment to resolve this issues. This book is not about being anti-gender, anti-white or anti-any race. It is about being anti-discrimination.
This book was written with the knowledge that it is impossible to force others to discard prejudicial beliefs. Instead it uses a more sensible approach that makes offenders willingly stop discriminatory practices. This is accomplished by showing why it is in their best interest to change and how they will reap benefits by eliminating discrimination.
The glass ceiling is one of the greatest challenges our generation faces. It is a plague upon our society and will only be vanquished when all minorities, women and non-minorities, institutions and businesses become active participants in eliminating this abomination. Let this book be your blueprint to a successful career regardless of who you are. Employers and institutions will also learn to achieve and maintain success by properly utilizing and motivating their most important assest -- their entire workforce, regardless of race and gender.
