About the Author

Rob Cook (Alma, MI) is the founder of Rebeats, a company specializing in projects related to drum history since 1972. Cook founded and produces the Chicago Drum Show, the world's largest and longest-running vintage and custom drum show which celebrates it's 24th show in 2014. As an author/publisher Cook has written and published books on most of the major American drum companies of the 20th century; Leedy, Ludwig, Rogers, Slingerland, and now Gretsch. Cook has also collaborated on and published the autobiographies of Maurie Lishon (Franks Drum Shop'), 'William F. Ludwig II, Jerry Shirley (Humble Pie'), 'and Ed Shaughnessy. Cook has written articles and columns for most of the major American percussion periodicals including Modern Drummer, DRUM! Magazine, NotSoModernDrummer, Classic Drummer, and Percussive Notes.
