About this title

From the Author

Climbing trees is one of the perks of my job.
I have loved trees since I was a kid. In fact, my grandma tells me I once hid in the Black Walnut tree behind the barn when she called me to do the dishes. She eventually found me, and the dishes were still waiting, but it was worth a try. My husband does the dishes now (he's not much good at climbing trees), but I still climb trees even at the ripe old age of 49. This is a tree lover's book, but it's also a book about history and natural science. Best read from a perch in your favorite tree, but real handy in the class room.
