About the Authors

John W. Wrigley AM, BSc. (1934–2014) developed his knowledge of the Australian flora over more than 40 years. He was Curator of the Australian National Botanic Gardens in Canberra for 14 years and designed botanic gardens in Coffs Harbour, Mildura and Tamworth, as well as a nature park at Port Macquarie. He had ten other books on native plants published and in 1983 he was made a Member of the Order of Australia for his services to the cultivation and study of Australian flora.

Murray Fagg managed the Botanical Information Unit of the Australian National Botanic Gardens in Canberra, and sat on the executive of the Centre for Plant Biodiversity and Research and Australian National Herbarium. Today he is an Honorary Associate of both organisations. He has an extensive private photograph collection and has contributed photographs and illustrations to 14 other books.
