About the Author

Rye Senjen worked for many years at the cutting edge of new communications technologies as a research scientist for Telstra's Artificial Intelligence section, focussing on developing Internet software and hardware. She and Jane Guthrey co-authored The Internet for Women in 1996 as web, email and other communication technologies began their global spread. Rye is now a spokesperson for Friends of the Earth on nanotechnologies. Her co-author, Jane Guthrey is a graphic artist who has a strong interest in computers. She works at the Melbourne Museum.
