Domain decomposition provides computationally efficient parallel and distributed solution of large scale problems. These methods mainly consist of splitting the global domain into several sub-domains and to compute the solution on the global domain through the resolution of the problem associated with each sub-domain. Frederic Magoulès is a professor at Ecole Centrale Paris, leading the High Performance Computing group at the Applied Mathematics and Systems laboratory. He is the author or coauthor of more than 45 publications in computational science and engineering, and has delivered presentations at universities, laboratories, and industrial research centers.
