It includes photographs of churches not illustrated by him and goes into more detail about specific churches. It would also be useful to those without any previous knowledge, and the basic information about church architecture and furnishing may be applied to other areas of Britain. The author is a freelance historian and university lecturer specialising in ecclesiastical history.
