Synopsis

Mary Wanless has spent 12 years researching the underlying principles of riding. Since the publication of "Ride with your Mind" ,she has developed and simplified her theories, which she explains to riders in this manual, through 11 illustrated lessons. Her solutions to problems are based on increasing each rider's understanding of what "is", building her reliance on clear perceptions instead of on a mental concept of how it "ought to be". Since the changes to horse and rider are frequently profound, it should be easy for readers to recognize and identify with the whole range of problems exhibited in the lessons and to put the ideas and solutions into practice for themselves. Mary Wanless explains the scientific basis of her fascinating images and her understanding of rider/horse interaction. Thus linking theory and practice, she aims to allow the reader to attain a level of skill exceeding traditional expectations.
