Using all the sources available, this is a history of the parish of Woolverstone on the Shotley Peninsula in Suffolk. It approaches the parish history by an examination of the place-names within the parish, and it does so with scholarly apparatus of sources, original spellings and proposed derivations. Field names, road names, names of buildings and features are all included in addition to the main settlement names. The book is pioneer survey and a model of careful research. It includes three maps in the text as well as separately-printed photographs.
