Synopsis
This work is published to accompany the exhibition at 3 Degrees West Gallery, The Wordsworth Trust. "Abstract Logic" explores the connections between abstract painting and Romantic ideas of landscape and the sublime. The works featured were developed during the time Daniel spent in residence in Grasmere, and were finished in the Trust's Boathouse studio space. Daniel Sturgis has recently exhibited in the 2004 John Moore's Prize, as well as in shows in Athens and Berlin. His work has been described by leading critic, Barry Schwabsky as 'forthright and fun, yet full of quandaries.'
