Synopsis
With the development of light and sophisticated radio control equipment there has been a huge increase in the number of ship modellers who wish to build reliable working models whose every function can be controlled. This book provides a 'how to' manual for fitting and operating such model boats with radio control. It deals first with the equipment needed - transmitters and receivers, servos and electric motors, batteries and other power supplies - and then goes on to explain, in the meat of the book, how they can be modified and employed to serve various functions. Whether a modeller wishes to propel a small tug, deploy fire-fighting equipment, control the braces of a five-masted barque, or fire the torpedoes of a model U-boat, all the techniques for installing, modifying and operating the equipment are explained.
