Synopsis
According to the Royal National Institute for Deaf People there are 2,474,000 deaf and hard of hearing people aged between 16 and 60 in the UK. The book includes information on different types of hearing loss, ranging from mild to severe and how they are caused, as well as what steps may be taken to improve a sufferer's quality of life. According to author, Juliet England, 1 in 7 will experience hearing loss at some point in their lives. The book recognises sufferers of all extremities, as well as concerned friends and family.

About the Author
Juliet England trained as a journalist after completing a modern languages degree. She has also worked as a charity press officer and a corporate copywriter. She now works as a freelance copywriter and journalist, and has also completed work for an MA in Creative and Critical Writing at Winchester University. She lives in Reading, and has a severe hearing loss herself.
