About the Author

ATL took hold of Richard Grimes while he was part of a team developing a COM-based workflow system. Its elegance and symplicity had a lasting effect on him. Now, although Richard does not live an obsessively pure COM lifestyle, he finds that ATL gives him more time to enjoy his garden. George V. Reilly has been a member of the IIS/ASP development team since shortly before ASP 1.0 shipped at the end of 1996. Nowadays he is responsible for IIS performance. He has been doing his best to write tight code since he discovered the BBC Micro in his native Dublin, Ireland in 1982. Orginally trained as a geologist, Julian got side-tracked into programming in the late 70's, and has never found his way back. After working in computer graphics and the oil industry, he now works for a London-based training and consultancy company, where he spends a large part of his time lecturing on C++ and Windows programming. Karli Watson is an in-house author for Wrox Press with a penchant for multicolored clothing. He started out with the intention of becoming a world famous nanotechnologist, so perhaps one day you might recognize his name as he receives a Nobel Prize. For now, though, Karli's computing interests include all things mobile, and upcoming technologies such as C#. He can often be found preaching about these technologies at conferences, as well as after hours in drinking establishments. Karli is also a snowboarding enthusiast, and wishes he had a cat.
