Synopsis
The Dancing Partner is about as black as humour can get and was first published in 1892 in a volume entitled Novel Notes. An inventor creates a machine that can dance with all the girls at society balls, but the results are far from satisfactory. Still in mechanical vein, this edition also includes, Jerome's little-known comic essay, Clocks

Jerome K. Jerome (1859-1927). Most famous for his classic comic novel Three Men in a Boat (1889), which describes a rowing holiday on the Thames enjoyed by three men and their dog.
