This breed of great grace, speed and stamina, is one of the most distinctive looking of all. Bred on the Continent as multi-purpose hunting, pointing, and retrieving gundog, the Weimaraner has been embraced world-wide as a dependable worker, loyal companion and photographer's model, this last through the Wegmann Weimaraners.

Patsy Hollings, a farmer′s daughter, grew up surrounded by animals, and was a keen horsewoman, riding competitively. She acquired her first show dog, an English Setter, in 1972, and that was the start of an amazing success story. In partnership with her husband Stephen, Patsy began breeding Weimaraners in 1976 under the Gunalt prefix, and since then they have bred a total of thirteen British Champions, as well as many others overseas. Patsy campaigned the first Weimaraner to win Best in Show at an All Breed Championship Show, and she has now bred a record five different Championship Group winners. In 1993 Patsy and Stephen were runners–up Top Breeder All Breeds in the UK, and in 1994 they won this coveted title. An international Championship Show judge, Patsy is qualified to award CCs in eight Gundog breeds, and she judges the Gundog Group at Championship level.
An illustrated Weimaraner reference in the BOOK OF THE BREED series which provides information about the gundogs history and development, practical advice about choosing a puppy, handling, showing and breeding, as well as suggestions about general care and training from Field Trial Kennels.
