Synopsis

Food is personal. It touches on issues which are personal, even intimate-your likes and dislikes, comforts and cravings, family history, home life, and social life. This is a book about problems related to food.
Many good books concentrate on the medical and psychological aspects of eating disorders defining the problem well but failing to look at a deeper level for the root cause and the healing steps required.

Although eating problems are very real, they’re actually the symptoms of a much deeper hunger, which is usually hidden – even from those who are desperate to be free.
Hidden Hunger is essentially Maxine’s story. She teaches and talks about the possible causes of eating disorders, going back to childhood years, ‘An eating disorder is really a silent cry for love, care and acceptance.’
She challenges the reader in a most positive and encouraging way.
This book is an expanded version of teaching Maxine gives at seminars and conferences.
