This is one of the smallest guides to Euro 2000 on the market but, with the Rough Brand behind it, it is sure to be a popular choice for those travelling to see the games who don't want to lug a hefty tome around in their suitcase. It covers all the usual information: team history and who to watch this year; top players; the stadia; and a year-by-year history of the European Championship.
What this book does slightly differently is cater for the travelling fan rather than those who will be sitting watching the game in the living room. The book offers a practical information for fans who are flying off to see their boys in action; profiles of all eight host cities in Belgium and Holland are provided--recommendations on hotels, bars, restaurants and clubs and transport to the stadia are just some of the help tips and hints included. The book also includes a complete fixture schedule with local and UK kick-off times, in case you have trouble re-adjusting your watch! There are photos but they are black and white and the text is very small, but these are the only two negative aspects to an otherwise excellent publication that is perfectly pitched. --Jonathan Weir
