He accomplished the Blitzkrieg method of warfare in Northern France on 1940 and became commander in the deserts of North Africa in ealry 1941, causing much trouble to the Allied Forces until defeated by Montgomery in the second battle of El Alamein, in 1942. He was dubbed "The Desert Fox" by the British and apparently was respected for his military leadership skills.
