There are also introductory texts and commentaries by writers such as Marcus Field and Brian Hatton along with an essay from the eminent historian Theodore Zeldin. Cult London graphic designers, Why Not Associates, have used of special materials and print processes to make the book an extraordinary object in its own right.

About the Author

Nigel Coates is one of the UK's most influential designers and architects. With Doug Branson, he founded Branson Coates Architecture in 1985 and in 1995 he was appointed Professor of Architectural Design at the Royal College of Art. One of his chairs, and several of his drawings are in the collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
