Synopsis
Presenting 50 of the best examples of recent hotel architecture and interiors, this work incorporates a diversity of style and form in "designer" hotels, luxury hotels, resorts, themed hotels and the stylish mainstream of international business hotels. Some of the de-luxe chains have turned away from the rather bland "international" five-star style which dominated hotel interiors in the late-1980s to embrace local culture and craftsmanship. The result has been a rebirth of individuality as hotels seek to revive the particular style of the countries and regions they serve. The hotels featured in the book range from a Robert Stern invention for Disneyworld to the theatrical statements of Philippe Starck, and from the elegant style of Andree Putman to a converted prison in Istanbul.

About the Author
Hitoshi Nagasawa founded Papier Colle in 1981. Nagasawa is known for designing posters, catalogues, and other paraphernalia for various art shows and exhibitions, including Bauhaus Exhibition. He is responsible for designing the website for the National Museum of Art, Osaka, and has been involved in a wide range of work including designing fashion magazines and book covers. He lives in Tokyo.
