Synopsis
Set on the brink of the Reformation, this is a parable of an age rushing to its crisis. After hunting for the sunken city of Vineta, Salvestro is redeployed to find a rhinoceros to be given to the Pope. The story culminates in the sinking of the rhinoceros in 1516 on its way from India to Rome.
