About the Author

Poet and essayist, Fran�ois Lallier was born in Vincennes in 1947. He lived in Paris from 1968 until 1995. In 1981 his '�tats de la m�moire' was published, of which a selection appears in this volume in English translation for the first time. Five books of poetry followed, the last of which, 'Accidents de lumi�re', was published in 2025 by the �ditions de la Lettre vol�e in Brussels. It is constructed on a ‘meteorology’ of natural images that precede every kind of representation and yet are like forms, drawing our eyes to the perennial presence of the world.

Francois Lallier est ne en 1947. Proche depuis 1968 d'Yves Bonnefoy, il a publie Etats de la memoire en 1981. Cinq livres de poesie suivront, dont le dernier, Accidents de lumiere, paru en 2025 aux editions de La Lettre volee (Bruxelles), s'etablit sur une " meteorologie " des apparitions que sont les moments ou des images naturelles, anterieures a toute representation et pourtant comme des types, font advenir a nos yeux le present perpetuel du monde.
