Synopsis
This all-colour collection of photographs contains such aviation bench-marks as the test-flights of the Avro Lancaster, the test of Britain's first jet fighter - the English Electric Lightning, and shots of the world's only jet-powered flying-boat, The Saunders Roe SR.A1. From 1942 to 1965, Charles Brown continued to record aviation history as it unfolded. In this book his photographs are shown, where possible, in their total format so that study can be made of the dramatic skyscapes that were intentionally captured.
